Agree

AObmembers have been asked to vote. In primary education, just over 5200 members completed the online poll. 94 percent of them indicated that they agree with the agreement. In secondary education, around 4400 members completed the poll and in this sector 91 percent indicate that they support the agreement. This afternoon, both sector councils - which include members from primary and secondary education who can give the final assessment - of the AOb about the agreement. Both councils agreed this afternoon.

A lot to do

“It is very nice that the agreement is so supported and that the polls have been completed so often,” says Evers, who received many positive messages about the agreement last week. He is already looking ahead. “There is still a lot to do, we now have to move on to the elections that are already approaching,” says the director. “We still want a lower workload by realizing smaller classes and a reduction in teaching tasks. Politicians must pick this up.”

Also Thijs Roovers, AObdirector in primary education, believes that the poll indicates that the collective labor agreement negotiators have done a good job. "In addition to a nice wage increase, we have also achieved many substantive points," he says. He also looks further, for example at the internship allowance. "Interns must receive an appropriate internship allowance. Outgoing minister Robbert Dijkgraaf tweeted on September 11 that he thinks so too. Then I say: 'It's a bit of a shame, because we didn't see anything about that in the Budget Memorandum."

Definitely

De AOb is the largest union in collective labor agreement negotiations for both sectors. On September 28 it will become clear whether all unions and employers agree in primary education. For secondary education this is on October 2.
