More than two-thirds of the 152 partnerships in primary and secondary education recorded a plus last year, varying from barely two and a half thousand to more than 2,2 million euros.

Partnerships in secondary education often had a surplus. More than 21,4 million euros remained in secondary education, and 10,4 million euros in primary education. Together the 152 organizations saw their bank balance increase further. Cash and cash equivalents increased from 250 million to 281 million euros.

Relatively speaking, partnerships have hardly gotten richer. The share of shareholders' equity in the balance sheet total fluctuates around 76 percent, just like the year before. This is because there are eight million euros more in short-term debts on the balance sheet, such as obligations to school boards.

Last year, the financial accountability for partnerships was adjusted on an important point. The institutions now include in their income the funds that they transfer directly to school boards and the money that DUO transfers directly to the school boards. In 2016 there was still 340 million in the books as income, in 2017 that was more than two billion. As a result, the relative operating result has become much smaller and amounts to about 1,5 percent.

At the same time, there is again more money left than partnerships themselves had expected. They estimated a surplus of 4 million euros, as was shown at the end of last year Financial State of Education. In it, the Education Inspectorate looked at the forecasts drawn up by the organizations themselves.

Since the start of appropriate education in 2014, partnerships have been left with money every year. In 2015 it was 83 million and in 2016 just under 49 million euro. Shareholders' equity increased from 157 million at the beginning of 2016 to 238 million at the end of last year.
