Strike a great success: at least ninety percent of schools are closed
Counts from the organizations of the primary education front show that at least 90 percent of all schools were closed today. The willingness to take action also turned out to be great on this third day of action. If the cabinet does not respond to the requirements for a better salary and lower workload, new actions will follow in 2018.

The willingness of teachers and support staff to take action is and remains high, according to the injection in June, the strike manifestation in the Zuiderpark on October 5 and the national strike from today. The strikers gathered in cinemas across the country, in union offices, in city centers or organized campaigns from schools. Some were already practicing for the future, when classes of fifty children were created due to the teacher shortage.

At least 60 teachers and support workers went on strike. Many strikers did not consider it necessary to register because their school does not deduct wages. It is expected that seven out of ten school boards will continue to pay. At the AOb and FNV Education and Research, 20 thousand strikers registered. 93 percent of primary schools are closed, according to the registration of the AOb. When registering, they could indicate whether their school was closed.

At the strike manifestations it became clear that the strikers also want to continue to campaign next year. The PO front will prepare actions for the new year, whereby new strikes are not excluded.
