The sector board for secondary education is looking for you!
Do you want to represent the voice of your colleagues? Do you want the policy of the AOb Shaping? Put yourself forward as a candidate for the secondary education sector board on behalf of the Northwest region (Utrecht and North Holland) or the East region (Flevoland, Gelderland and Overijssel)!
In the sector board, you jointly prepare the meetings of the sector council and you are closely involved in current developments in secondary education (secondary education), both in terms of educational content and employment conditions. Together with the other members of the sector board, you form spiders in the web of information and input from the work organization, the main board of the AOb, the 50 elected members of the secondary education sector council, the collective labor agreement negotiators and the rest of the colleagues in secondary education.
What does it mean?
As a member of the sector board you combine working in education with working for the AOb. Tasks include:
- organizing and organizing the meetings of the secondary education sector council
- organizing meetings for members in the district with colleagues
- representing the voice of the teacher in different places
- sparring with negotiators during a collective labor agreement process
- putting matters on the agenda that are important for colleagues in the schools
- together with colleagues from the AOb set the guidelines for policy in the sector
Working area and size of vacancies
The working area is the Northwest region (Utrecht and North Holland) or the East region (Flevoland, Gelderland and Overijssel). Both vacancies that have arisen for the secondary education sector board concern an appointment for a term of 1 year, starting on August 1, 2024. After that, there is the possibility of re-election for 4 years. Trade union facilities are available to the appointee (4 clock hours per week for 45 weeks). Meetings and work are held both physically (in Utrecht) and online (via Teams).
Activities in the Northwest region usually take place at the office in Utrecht, but they are also moved to other locations within the region. Activities in the East region regularly take place in Deventer, where the office is located, or at other locations within the region.
