Money against work pressure is released earlier
Part of the workload millions for primary education is already coming to schools earlier. That is what the cabinet has today with PO front, the action group that also includes the AOb in it, agreed.
From next school year, the cabinet will add 237 million euros to the lump sum for primary education schools. In the original plan, this amount would be 155 million.
Ultimately, the millions are divided among the schools based on the size of the school. These amounts will be made public annually, minister Arie Slob promises, for 'optimum transparency, including towards the staff in the school and parents'. Slob: "The investment that this cabinet is making, in combination with actions that the sector itself is already taking, give me confidence that teachers will notice the difference in the classroom," said the minister in a statement. brief about the agreement to the Lower House.
School teams
The PO front has agreed with the minister that schools will consider how they will use the money at team level. School teams must put their plans for reducing the workload on paper and have them approved by the employee representatives of the participation council. It has also been agreed that the same staff section will be kept informed about whether the measures taken are working.
Strike continues
It is obvious that schools will use the amount for extra support in the classroom, or for class reduction. But both are difficult to achieve when there are too few teachers available for the work, says the PO front - including the AOb - in a reaction on these new appointments. Therefore, the planned strike action in the three northern provinces on February 14th.
