Action for a fair internship allowance

In education we are very happy with new colleagues! You are very much needed, partly because of the teacher shortage. Unfortunately, not everything has yet been optimally arranged for students and lateral entrants. 

More than three-quarters of students in educational programs in the Netherlands receive no compensation for the internship. While trainees in other sectors of the national government, such as the police or nursing, do get paid. It also differs strongly per school how lateral entrants are guided in the profession. The fact that as an intern in education you often do your internship for free is extra bitter because you often take over entire lessons independently due to the teacher shortage.

750 euros gross

That has to change. The AOb wants all educational interns to receive a compensation of 750 euros gross per month (for 40 hours of internship per week, otherwise pro rata). This amount applies until the final internship, for which agreements have already been made. That is why we are now identifying which schools pay an internship allowance for primary and secondary education.
