Pabo admission requirements, if necessary, relaxed due to corona
As long as the corona crisis continues, many admission tests for PABO programs may also be canceled. In that case, new students can already start in September, the universities of applied sciences report.

Anyone who wants to do a teacher training at the Pabo has been meeting strict admission requirements for several years. Interested students must take tests in advance and demonstrate that they already know something about geography, history and nature & technology.
No exemption
But many of the admission tests are canceled for the time being due to the corona crisis. Prospective students can therefore conditionally start the teacher training course in September, even if they have not yet taken all the tests. There is no exemption: ultimately students still have to meet the entry requirements. They will have until 1 January 2021 for this.

The universities of applied sciences will apply similar measures for bachelor students who want to do a master's degree and for mbo students who are starting higher vocational education. They too will have until 1 January 2021 to complete their preparatory education.
Knowledge level
The strict admission requirements for the teacher training college were set in 2015 after years of criticism of the level of knowledge of graduates. Study success has increased thanks to the introduction of the new requirements, but the programs have attracted fewer first-years since then.
