VSO protocol available: fully open with 1,5 meters distance
The protocol for special secondary education (VSO) is available. Last Tuesday, Prime Minister Mark Rutte announced that the VSO will start again with lessons at school on 2 June, whereby the XNUMX meter rule is observed.

The protocol, drawn up by the unions and school boards, should help schools arrange practical matters when the doors reopen in a week and a half. For example, the protocol indicates which measures must be taken with regard to hygiene and safety and what the situation is with student transport and gym lessons.
The starting point is that the VSO schools will be fully open to all students from 2 June. An important obligation is the one and a half meter rule that must guarantee a distance between students and between students and the teaching staff.

For example, there is no general requirement for a maximum group size. Schools can determine this on the basis of their building and how many staff they can deploy. However, students must stay in the same room as much as possible and only the teachers change rooms. Tables and learning materials must be cleaned as much as possible upon entering and leaving the room. The content of the education is also up to the schools themselves. However, the protocol does recommend limiting this to the core of all subjects and students who take the state exam must be properly prepared.
Medical action
Existing medical protocols will continue to exist. Care in schools, for example from care supporters and youth services, can be restarted. If the medical procedure calls for being closer to a student, a surgical mouth-nose mask must be used in some cases. The parents of pupils who run additional health risks due to their disability or medical background should consult with a doctor to ask for advice on whether their child can go to school and whether it is safe.
Emergency shelter for pupils in vulnerable positions and for pupils of parents in crucial professions will continue to exist.
