Education magazine nominated for journalistic prize
The Education Magazine has been nominated for the National Prize for Educational Journalism 2019 with two articles. The prize, which is awarded annually for special journalistic productions, will be awarded on 24 January during the National Education Exhibition (NOT).

Michael van Nieuwstadt exposed for the September issue last year the Dutch educational achievements in an international context for the story 'Performing with a sense of freedom'. And Joelle Poortvliet analyzed last June why girls with a migration background are doing better and better in higher education and at the same time still experience stigmatization and a pigeonholing spirit.
Other contenders
Six nominees are in the running for the prize. The other contenders are Hielke Jan Borger (Argos) with The Promotiefabriek, Ingeborg van der Ven (Scienceguide) with Sexual Harassment Within the Academy, Anja Vink (Free Netherlands) with Half a year at secondary vocational education, and Johannes Visser (The Correspondent): Teachers have been earning less than agreed for 10 years - while the money is just there.
The National Prize for Educational Journalism has been awarded since 2008. So far, there has been two production from the Onderwijsblad awarded.
