Teacher should report child abuse more often
The Child Abuse and Domestic Violence reporting code has been adjusted. As of 1 January 2019, there is an obligation for professionals to report to the Safe at Home advice and reporting center in the event of serious abuse or in another situation of structural and acute insecurity. Employees from all education sectors will have to deal with this adjustment.

The updated reporting code and the amendment to the law are start of July implemented. Various professional groups, such as health care, youth care, childcare and education, will now have time to get used to the more extensive code.

Less without obligation
The report code consists of five steps. The first three steps are about signaling. Steps 4 and 5 concern the assessment and decision on the notification of the case. With the change in the reporting code, there will be an adjustment in the last two steps. Making a report to Safe at Home becomes less without obligation.
The fifth step previously consisted of two choices: reporting the situation to Safe at Home or organizing help yourself to help the victim. As of 1 January 2019, this choice will expire when it comes to serious cases, because Safe at Home will now not be notified if professionals organize help themselves. More effective
