Inspectorate files a complaint against SvPO driver
The Education Inspectorate has filed a complaint with the Public Prosecution Service against director Misha van Denderen of the Schools for Personal Education (SvPO). The declaration is related to a recent investigation that the Inspectorate has completed into housing and financing at SvPO.
This was revealed by the inspectorate this afternoon. The message speaks of a suspicion of 'one or more criminal offences', it is not stated which one this concerns. The inspectorate does report that the suspicions are 'based on the investigations that have been carried out in recent months into the accommodation of the schools in question and the associated transactions.'
That inspection investigation was supposed to become public last week, but Van Denderen has gone to court to prevent its publication. The summary proceedings will be submitted to the court in The Hague on Thursday 24 March.
Private foundation
The Education Magazine reconstructed last week how publicly financed real estate at SvPO has been brought into the legal hands of a private foundation in recent years, which, like the schools, is chaired by Van Denderen. It concerns school buildings in Hurdegaryp, Geldermalsen, Hoorn and Deventer, which have been realized or renovated with education money and parental contributions. After renovation, the foundation was allowed to take over the renovated school buildings in Hoorn and Deventer for the original purchase price.
The new inspection investigation is a follow-up to critical reports last year† A debate on SvPO would also be held on March 24 in the House of Representatives, but that will probably be postponed.
