HBO employees can have saved Tu hours paid out
HBO employees can have the old, saved hours paid out for sustainable employability or use them later. The AOb has agreed with the other trade unions and employers that employees will be given more time to use up their credit.

Staying fit enough to do your job, that's what the 'Tue hours' are all about: hours for sustainable employability (Tue). These hours - roughly one working week per HBO employee*Have you been working in higher professional education for three years or more and do you have a position of 0,4 FTE or more? Then you are entitled to 45 hours of sustainable employability every year. Older employees, who are ten years before their state pension age and have worked in higher professional education for at least five years, are entitled to 90 hours per year. Part-timers receive the hours pro rata. The tu hours are in your annual task. per year - must help to continue to do the work well, healthily and with pleasure, also in the longer term.
In addition, HBO employees can use the Tue hours for a limited period of time to maintain a good work-life balance. They may use the hours for what they feel contributes to the goal, such as sports or taking extra leave.

Until 2020, you could save Tues hours that you did not take up to a maximum of 200 hours. Douwe van der Zweep, AObdirector for higher education, estimates that many HBO employees still have a piggy bank: “We get a lot of questions about it. Particularly in corona time, the Tue hours are taken less.”
The current collective labor agreement states that the saved hours must be used up before 1 September 2023. It has now been agreed that employees will be given more time for this and that the hours can be paid.
In the calendar years 2023, 2024 and 2025, HBO employees can have 45 di-hours paid out of their saved credit per year. Are you retiring or terminating your employment? Then you can withdraw the credit of hours that you still have in one go, prior to your departure.
