No physical exams for MBOs
MBO teachers no longer have to take physical exams at the ROCs and AOCs. The measure will take effect immediately and will in any case apply until April 6. This is reported by the employers' umbrella organization MBO Council today after consultation with the Minister of Education.
This gives MBOs time to properly set up their distance learning and to see how they are going to structure the examination. Schools must look for other ways to test whether students have passed a component. The distance learning that many MBO schools already started last week will continue as usual.
Last week the minister said that the exams should continue as much as possible, provided that the schools adhere to the guidelines of the RIVM. The minister will now come back to that, according to the MBO council. This measure also applies to adult education (VAVO). This education also falls under secondary education for which Education Minister Slob today announced to cancel the central exams.
Contact
“This means that MBO personnel do not have to go to school locations to take physical exams,” says AObMBO driver Tamar van Gelder. “If there are still schools that call for this, I recommend teachers and supporters contact with the union to record. ”
The new appointment is also coming in the service document (search for 'Covid-19') that the Ministry of Education shared last week. “This document is updated weekly because there is always news and new measures,” says Van Gelder.
