AOb elects chief administrator of scientific education
The General Assembly of the AOb last week, scientist Marijtje Jongsma elected the new chief administrator. She will work hard for scientific education and research within the union.

Jongsma is affiliated with Radboud University Nijmegen as an associate professor and works at the Faculty of Social Sciences. She was already active in the Vawo, the Union for science, the union that is beginning this year has gone up in the AOb so that all education sectors are now represented. Jongsma was a board member of the Vawo for a number of years and until 2017 chairman.

“For more than ten years I have been committed to promoting the interests of the staff at universities and research institutions. I hope that from the AOb to do. We have already raised important points such as the structural overtime with our declaration to the Labor Inspectorate, together with WoinAction and the FNV. Besides the workload, they are reducing temporary contracts, the career prospects for young academics and improving diversity are important themes. As the main driver, I am happy to contribute to that.
