The education unions AOb, CNVO, FNV, FvOV are calling on their members to strike on Wednesday 14 February for a fair salary and lower workload. All information about the strike can be found on this page.

Program manifestation in the Suikerfabriek Groningen
The music is provided by the Bogerman Bigband. The stage presentation is in the hands of Marieke Homan. Speakers are Eugenie Stolk, Thijs Roovers, Mark Vrolijk (parent) and Meester Mark. At the end, a school team hands over the relay strike to colleagues who go on strike on March 14.

General transport
Members of the AOb will receive an expense allowance of 5 euros for transport to the registration points when the strike notice is handed in. This is automatically transferred to the account number known to us. You can indicate on the strike call that you wish to waive this compensation, because you live very close to the event or the registration points, for example.
Transport to Sugar Factory
Are you coming to the Sugar Factory and do you live close by? Come by bike as much as possible. Can you travel by public transport to the Groningen train station? From there, a few shuttle buses run to and from the Sugar Factory. Are you going by car? Travel together in one car as much as possible, which will reduce the parking pressure at the Suikerfabriek.
Strike call
All AObmembers who work at a primary school in Groningen, Friesland and Drenthe have received the strike call. The call is simultaneously your personal registration form and (possibly) claim form for travel expenses.

March 14 strike - North Holland, Utrecht and Flevoland
At the end of the event in Groningen, the relay baton will be handed over to the following region: Noord-Holland, Utrecht and Flevoland. The PO front is now making plans for the implementation of the campaign in that region. The joint event will be in Amsterdam.
Withhold wages?
Although the school boards support the actions, it is expected that more boards will cut their salary. As a member of the AOb you are then entitled to a strike benefit if wages have actually been withheld. This strike benefit amounts to 61 euros for a whole day and is tax-free. If you work fewer hours on 14 February, you will be paid in proportion to the working time. After the strike, you must send your payslip stating the withheld amount. You can use the form here .
Catch up for hours? Contaminated work?
Several schools say that because of the teaching time law, strikers have to make up for lost class hours. That is not true. Read there more about this. Also, as a volunteer you do not have to take over tasks from colleagues who do strike, in other words: you can refuse contaminated work.
