Action project is continued
The actions in primary education will be continued this month. The aim is and remains that a structural investment of 1,4 billion euros for better salary and a lower workload is needed for primary education. Relay campaigns will start at the end of January in the provinces of Friesland, Groningen and Drenthe. Information about the nature of the actions will follow.
In the meantime, the members of the PO front do take their responsibility. Preparatory talks about this have started a new collective labor agreement. Because employers and employees want the money that is already available to be used for teachers and teams as quickly as possible.
The additional resources demanded remain what the AOb This concerns dire necessity: the influx to teacher training colleges remains insufficient to absorb the pension wave in the sector and the combination of high work pressure and a modest salary is driving an increasing number of teachers to switch to another profession. The most recent forecasts with which the Ministry of Education is working indicate a shortage of 4200 full-time teachers in five years and more than 11 thousand in 2027.
Shortages of this magnitude not only cause problems for school administrators and teaching staff, but also students are the victims: they are increasingly running the risk of not being taught by a certified teacher because the cabinet does not sufficiently recognize the problem.
