Actions in primary education continue
Primary schools in Friesland, Groningen and Drenthe will remain closed on 14 February. The PO-Front will let you know. In addition, the organizations in the PO front do not see any move from the cabinet to make more money available for salary. Primary education remains one of the worst-paying sectors for the highly educated. If economic prosperity continues and wages in the market sectors jump, it is possible that the salary gap will widen in the coming years. A salary equivalent to secondary education is a modest requirement in that light.
Call for strike
Details about the strike will be announced at a later date. It is certain that de Algemene Onderwijsbond, CNV Education, PO in action and FvO are calling on all teachers and educational support staff in the Northern Netherlands to stop working on 14 February. The General Association of School Leaders calls on all school leaders to support the strike. Whether the PO Council supports the strike depends on a members' consultation that will take place this week.
