Salary in education

Explanation of wage scales in education
There are several pay scales in every education sector. A pay scale is divided into 'steps'. Normally, your salary will increase by one step each year, until you have reached the maximum of your salary scale. In order to know what you will earn net later, you need to know what your pay scale is.
- Pay scale starter primary education: As a starter in primary education you start in scale LB.
- Pay scale for starters in secondary education and mbo: As a starter in secondary education and MBO you usually start in scale LB. For a more demanding position - in curriculum development or supervising students with complex problems - in secondary education you will end up in scale LC.
- Pay scale starter hbo: HBO works with salary scales 10 to 13. The salary scale you end up in depends on your experience, your education and the subject you teach.
