Report 'very weak' Svpo Utrecht still remains secret
The board of the Utrecht School for Personal Education wants to go to court to prevent a highly critical report from the Education Inspectorate from being made public. The school has been judged 'very weak'.

To prevent the report from becoming public next week - formally this happens in the fifth week after adoption - the school board is applying for a provisional injunction from the court. At the same time, the board, chaired by founder Misha van Denderen, objects to the inspection verdict. In this objection procedure, which is handled by the Education Executive Agency, the Inspectorate must re-evaluate its decision.
The inspection report remains secret for the time being
Lawyer Wouter Pors leaves to it Education magazine know today that they will apply to the court for a provision, which will provisionally suspend publication. He confirms that the school board opposes the verdict 'very weak'. In any case, the report will now remain secret until the court has ruled on this request.
Signals
Last spring, the inspectorate conducted an investigation at the Utrecht school, which opened its doors in the summer of 2017. Partly because of a number of signals about social safety and the social pedagogical climate, this was extended to a quality study. The inspectorate adopted the report on 17 October.
Almost half of the employees of the Utrecht school left last summer
The Utrecht school saw almost half of the employees leave last summer. Just before the summer holidays, the then participation council said relying on it on the board. This school year a new mr has taken office.
Contradiction
It is the third time in just over a year that Van Denderen has challenged the findings of the Education Inspectorate in court. The inspectorate has already drawn up reports about the schools in Kapelle, Hardegarijp and Geldermalsen, which last autumn and last summer two lawsuits were committed. The inspectorate concludes, among other things, that the school board does not organize any objection as referred to in the law.
An appeal is still pending on the first lawsuit. That will probably come on the roll early next year.
