With your membership we are stronger in politics, stronger at the negotiating table and strong in our mission to excellent education. You have an advantage with extra knowledge and this ensures even more fun in the workplace. You are entitled to legal assistance, can attend free meetings and go out at the weekend with a discount: that completes the picture.
You want to cancel your membership. That is of course allowed, but we think it is a shame. We are happy to explain to you why it can still be useful to remain a member of de Algemene Onderwijsbond.
It is annoying if you find the costs of a membership too high. Your wallet also wants to keep its smile, we understand that. We certainly hope that the benefits of membership and the strength we have together are worth the investment.

Our contribution is tax deductible. Every year you can request part of your contribution back to receive a significant benefit. Here we explain step by step how this works and what you need to do.
Also check whether your contribution is still correct. If your income situation has changed, you may be entitled to a lower contribution. Handy to keep track!

If you leave education completely, we understand that a membership with the Aob no longer suits you. We advise you to transfer to another sector within the FNV.
If you are temporarily unable to work, we are still happy to help you. You are very welcome to remain a member and take advantage of all the benefits. Please let us know if your situation has changed and you may be eligible for a lower contribution.

If you want to terminate your membership, you have a three-month notice period that starts on the first day of the following month. You can cancel in two ways:
You can cancel your membership online via MyAOb. To do this, you must first log in with your email address and password. Then follow the steps to cancel your membership.
You can also cancel by sending an email to info@aob.nl. Clearly state your membership number, date of birth and zip code. This way we can help you faster.
