You wrote math teaching materials for pool billiards?
“I used to play pool a lot myself, and last year I read an appeal from the Royal Dutch Billiards Association. They were looking for someone who could write math teaching materials for the seventh grade. I responded immediately. ”
How hard was it?
“In pool you have to pocket numbered balls, so you can do a lot with numbers and math in class. But that doesn't help you while playing, so I also added some geometry to the method and developed a special tool, the SPAT. ”

"The Smart Pool Aiming Tool: it's a kind of protractor for the pool table. You can measure exactly where you need to hit a ball to get it in the pocket."
Are there actually pool tables in schools?
“We have developed a special table for schools, the Smartpool. It is not intended to be placed in the canteen: the table is really for the classroom or, for example, the gym room. There are twenty tables available and the requests are going fast. ”
