No lessons at colleges and universities for the time being
No lectures, no tutorials, no exams. To prevent further spread of the corona virus, students no longer have to come to their university or college until April 1. They only get distance learning.

This was decided after consultation between the educational umbrella organizations and the cabinet on Thursday 12 March. It is one of the new measures to contain the corona virus. Universities and colleges are going to look at the extent to which they can provide distance education.
Individual assessment
Internships can continue, university association clarifies VSNU. “This is at the individual discretion of the intern and the internship location.” All events with more than a hundred attendees, such as receptions and conferences, will be cancelled.
The universities of applied sciences are also suspending physical education for the time being. The buildings will, however, remain open for other activities as far as possible Association of Universities of Applied Sciences.
Many nationalities
In a letter to the House of Representatives, Minister Bruno Bruins of Public Health explains the consideration. “The cabinet has established that there are many nationalities at universities and colleges and therefore many entry and exit movements,” he writes.
It is not certain that the doors for students will open again on April 1. It could take longer to stop the spread of the Covid-19 virus.
The institutions themselves had already decided that they had to take measures. “We see that several universities have already scaled down their education and other activities themselves,” Bruins writes.

In the meantime, nurseries, primary schools, secondary schools and MBO institutions will remain open. "Closing childcare and schools is not an effective measure to prevent the spread of the virus," the minister said, "but would mean that parents should stay at home (even if they are involved in vital processes)."
