Ultimatum has been set, actions are in preparation
A lot is going to happen in primary education: it is code red. “We need patience to achieve our goals,” says AObdriver Eugenie Stolk.

“That requires a good spread of actions to continue to exert political pressure. The willingness to take action is enormous, we will continue," says Stolk. We list all the actions again, starting last Tuesday.
- Op November 7 2017 there was a meeting with Minister Arie Slob of Primary and Secondary Education. The PO front where the AOb together with other educational organizations, said Slob an ultimatum. He must let us know by the week of December 5 how he is releasing 1,4 billion euros to increase salaries and reduce the workload. - November 29, 2017: Meet-up with Slob about concerns in primary education
Stolk: “Minister Slob announced that he would like to talk to teachers, support staff, school leaders and other parties involved. We do this during this meet-up. A good time to make it clear to the Minister once again what our concerns are and what the situation is. Everyone from primary education can follow this meet-up via a live stream. Keep an eye on our site for more information and tickets to be there. ” - December 5, 2017: Ultimatum expires
“The education budget will be discussed in the Lower House this week,” says Stolk. The PO front has therefore issued an ultimatum. The unions will declare a strike if Minister Slob does not pledge 1,4 billion euros: 900 million euros for salary and 500 million euros for workload relief. - December 12, 2017: National Strike Day
If the 1,4 billion euros is not provided for primary education, teachers, support staff and school leaders will stop working on 12 December. Stolk: “This strike day is just the beginning. Long political pressure is needed to achieve our goals. ” - January 2018 - June 2018: Relay campaigns throughout the country
If after the national strike day there is still no extra money for primary education, then relay campaigns will follow throughout the country. AObdirector Stolk: “Keeping our goal on the political agenda requires patience. Our target is 1,4 billion euros. We don't settle for less. ”
In addition to these activities, the AOb action at the conferences of the coalition parties, such as last weekend at the CDA conference in Nijmegen. The D18 congress will follow on 66 November and the ChristenUnie and the VVD will hold their congress on 25 November.
