The accountability body, a kind of participation council, consists of representatives on behalf of the employers (16), the workers (19) and the pensioners (13). They monitor the policy of the ABP board, think along with it and give advice on, for example, the level of the pension premium and the rules for investments. Van Nie has been on the accountability body for four years. “For example, we have helped ABP to do more in terms of sustainability. The ABP must invest, but as responsibly as possible. That is now further translated into policy. ”
Arie de Graaf (70) is eligible on the list of pensioners. He has also been in the body in recent years and would like to continue his work. “We want a good pension for everyone. I do not participate in the contrast between the young and the elderly. And I want to contribute to the financial health of ABP so that the pensions can be indexed. ”
Solidarity and collective
Together with the FNV, the AOb is committed to a solidarity-based and collective pension within the accountability body. The AOb believes that the ABP should not count itself rich, but also not unnecessarily poor as in recent years. An eye for people and the environment when making investments is of great importance to the AOb.
