Program manifestation The Hague announced

The speakers during the strike on Friday March 15 have been announced. Especially people who work in education themselves step on the stage of the Malieveld.

During the national event, speakers and especially strikers - hopefully present in large numbers - will show that investing in education is a must. Come too! And make Friday, March 15, 2019 a day with a message that cannot be ignored.

The meeting in The Hague is unique. It is the first time in the Netherlands that all education sectors are on strike together. An excellent opportunity to show policymakers and other rulers and hear that the measure is full.

The program starts at 12.00 noon and lasts approximately one and a half hours. Comedian, radio producer and educational advocate Dolf Jansen talks the manifestation together.

John Brewster - teacher of order and safety at Nova College in Haarlem

John is a teacher in secondary vocational education. He is angry that the teaching profession is being destroyed by the current workload and the bad image. His colleagues are falling over and are no longer being replaced, he also says in it NOS News from 9 January (from 10 minute 40, ed.).

Britt van Setten-Reijnst - teacher at the Montessori school Zeist

Miss Britt knows students who do not want to go to the toilet because there is no money to properly clean toilets in primary schools. She also points to the workload. "Some children need to have a difficult sum explained three times. In practice, that often no longer works."

Jean-Pierre Nelk - teacher of physics and mathematics at the municipal Gymnasium in Schiedam

Jean-Pierre still finds it bizarre that the word 'teacher shortage' does not appear in the entire coalition agreement. He feels badly left out in the cold by this cabinet. He is regularly at school from eight in the morning to eight in the evening to be able to do all the tasks. Jeroen de Glass - parent of two daughters at the Tamarind in Zaandam

Due to the structural shortage of teaching staff, Jeroen's children have only had lessons four days a week for some time now. "This is a huge problem," Glas says at the AOb-website. "Parents should also bother the government as much as possible and come to the Malieveld on March 15."

Rens Bod - professor of computational humanities at the University of Amsterdam and driver of WOinActions

For the first time in history, universities are also participating in a joint national education strike. "We have a common goal," says Rens. "And that is the quality of the education. But we can't offer that if our teachers are destroyed by the work pressure." Rens told earlier on the AOb-website about WOinA Actie.

Roy van Kessel - works at the facility service of Maastricht University

Roy especially wants to point out to Education Ministers Arie Slob and Ingrid van Engelshoven the increasing workload, also among education support staff.

Carline van Breugel - student at the Free University and president of the National Student Union

On the facebook page of LSVb Van Breugel calls for solidarity among the students in the Netherlands and asks them to come en masse to the Malieveld. The LSVb is against the 'debt system' and for better education quality in higher education.
