Petition and website PO front launched
The website pofront.nl went live last night. Naturally, this includes the petition in which we ask everyone with a heart for education to support the fight for more salary and less workload in primary education.
The petition is intended for everyone who cares about education and our society. In short, it means that education has run into heavy weather due to overdue maintenance from political The Hague and that the various political parties are not very aware that something needs to be done now. Not only to keep primary education workable for staff, but also because children are entitled to the best possible education.
Good education stands or falls with teachers who are able to do their work well. And that will only become more difficult in the coming years due to staff shortages.
Coalition
The coalition that calls itself 'PO-front' is therefore broad. No one will have missed that de Algemene Onderwijsbond is taking this action together with the promoters of PO in Actie. In addition, fellow unions FNV, FVOV and CNV Education are part of the PO front. The school leaders who are united in the AVS and employers' organization PO Council complete the front.

In the meantime, the media has also realized that more money needs to go to our sector. to appreciate and keep working hard in the round, but also to make sure that we get more first-year students to the teacher training colleges in the coming years, something needs to be done now."
Open hours later
To get that message loud and clear, the initiators think a petition alone is not enough: the PO front calls on every primary school to open an hour later than usual on June 27 and there will be a manifestation in The Hague. "That is an extra signal to politicians," said Verheggen. Because she's not sure.
