Pedagogical visions in education
Schools in the Netherlands can be oriented on the basis of educational concepts. Well-known examples of this are the Jenaplan education and the Montessori schools.
Below is a brief overview of the different educational visions in the Netherlands.
Dalton
According to its creator Helen Parkhurst (1887-1973), it is based on two basic principles, namely freedom and cooperation. Parkhurst published the book Education on the Dalton Plan.
jenaplan
Is a form of educational innovation devised by Peter Petersen, who comes from the East German town of Jena. Education plays an important role in education, in which children of different ages are placed together.
Freinet
This educational vision arose from the ideas of the French pedagogue Célestin Freinet, in which the interests and interests of students form a starting point.
Montessori
A pedagogical concept developed by Maria Montessori. The needs of the students are a guide and different age groups are grouped together.
Free school
Based on the anthroposophical views of the Austrian philosopher Rudolf Steiner. Education, both primary and secondary education, is aimed at the so-called intrinsic development of the pupil.
