Student expelled for bullying teachers on Instagram
The Frits Philips Lyceum in Eindhoven has expelled a student from school as a result of a 'meme account' on Instagram, Omroep Brabant reports. The account featured edited photos of high school teachers, some of which were ridiculed.

The Instagram account was about school matters such as tests or homework, but teachers were also ridiculed with edited photos. For example, of the receptionist with a deformed skull as a head, or of a swimming pool with the text: “How empty would the swimming pool be if would jump in here?” The photos have since been removed.

"It went over the line," Rector Wiel Sporken tells Omroep Brabant. "It started as a joke, but once teachers start to feel unsafe, it goes too far." In addition to expelling a student, the school also suspended a number of students for one day.
It started out slow but got progressively worse
"They were bad memes," says a student at the school. "Teachers and janitors were ridiculed, for example with swastikas on their heads." A girl adds: "If a teacher was called whale on the account, for example, more and more students started calling that teacher that in real life. It started quietly, but it got worse and worse."
According to the broadcaster, there are at least a hundred such accounts in the Netherlands, which relate to different schools.
