Chamber wants to know more about accelerated teacher training
Minister Van Engelshoven (D66) must provide more information about accelerated teacher training. How many are there, is the quality sufficient, and can you obtain 240 credits in thirteen months?

The House of Representatives passed a motion to that effect yesterday. SP and GroenLinks had submitted it in response to the one-year primary school teacher training for lateral entrants who This is Wise, in collaboration with LOI Hogeschool. Normally, regular full-time students have to spend four years for the teacher training program, and side entrants at least two years.

How can someone learn in just over a year what others take almost four times longer? The SP and GroenLinks asked education minister Van Engelshoven again last Monday for clarification. The minister replied that the program has a strict selection procedure and is only intended for people with a higher education diploma who receive exemptions.
