Pabo graduates who have obtained the certificate 'group teacher lower secondary vocational education basis and framework' are now authorized to teach the subjects Dutch and arithmetic-mathematics and the optional subjects that are stated on the certificate in the lower years of the pre-vocational secondary education basis and framework. mention. Training path
In order to properly prepare teachers with a PABO certificate for the specific target group of the lower secondary vocational education basis and framework, a short-term training program has been set up by the higher professional education teacher training courses in collaboration with the VO Council and the education unions. Eight universities of applied sciences offer the education program.
Certificate
About eight hundred PABO graduates have already obtained the certificate. The training program focuses on the specific pedagogical, professional and didactic knowledge and skills that are required in the lower secondary vocational education (VMBO) basis and framework. Anyone who now teaches in VMBO with only a PABO diploma can be urged by the Education Inspectorate to obtain the certificate or to obtain the authorization through a teacher training program.
Subsidy
There is a subsidy scheme for short training courses in secondary education. This means that 80 percent of the total training costs can be reimbursed (up to a maximum of six thousand euros). The subsidy must be applied for within eight weeks of the first day of the course.
