The trade unions and the employers' organization PO-council are negotiating a new collective labor agreement for primary education. Part of this are new job descriptions. The question is whether you recognize yourself in the descriptions of the functions. Take part in the internet consultation!
The current job descriptions have not been updated since 2006 and the practice in schools has changed a lot. The tasks of the teacher in primary education have become more complex.
At the request of the trade unions and the primary education council, job evaluation expert Hans Overduin has spoken with various groups of primary school teachers in recent weeks. This one first draft job descriptions represent what was stated by the teachers in the conversations. What tasks do they perform and what responsibilities do they bear?
Higher salary
The most important observation is that the current 'standard' position of teacher is more highly valued and will therefore result in a higher salary. We call this pivotal function 2 in the consultation.
In addition to this pivotal function, a new function has been added, function 1 for the teacher with a limited range of tasks. The AOb is critical of this. In our view, this is only possible under strict conditions. For example, a starter who does not have his own group and works under supervision. Or the teacher who only works one day a week and has no group responsibility.
