Check how much NPO money your school gets
Education staff from primary and secondary education can use a tool to see how much money their school will receive in the new school year from the National Education Program (NPO).

This was announced today by outgoing education minister Arie Slob. A letter from the minister to the schools also states the amounts per pupil and per education sector. For example, primary education receives about 700 euros per pupil into the account. This also applies to mavo, havo and vwo students in secondary schools and to vmbo students in the first two years. Special education receives more than 1000 euros per pupil, as do practical education and secondary schools for pre-vocational secondary education students in the third or fourth year. Secondary special education receives 1400 euros per pupil.

Exact amount
With the tool teaching staff can quickly see how much money is coming to their school. An Excel file shows the additional funding available from the NPO to eliminate the corona backlogs. Schools with many students who are at risk of educational disadvantage also see the right amount there. These schools receive more money. The amount shown by the tool is separate from the subsidy scheme for catch-up and support programs and extra help in the classroom. The amount is based on the provisional student count of 2020.
Final exam
In August, the ministry will introduce another tool for secondary education. This will include the amounts secondary schools receive for the support of final exam candidates and the compensation scheme for schools in the Northern Netherlands.

In his letter, Slob emphasizes once again that it is 'of great importance' that school leaders, teachers and support staff make a plan together. "It is not the intention that the board takes decisions without consultation or distributes financial resources," the minister writes.
