CLA for primary education canceled, clearing the way for actions
De AOb and the other education unions have terminated the current collective labor agreement for primary education. This prevents the CLA from being tacitly renewed and a legal impediment to taking action.

The current collective labor agreement for primary education - which will remain in force until September 30 of this year - stipulates that the agreement must be terminated three months before the expiry of its term to avoid extension. AOb, CNV Education, AVS, FNV Overheid and FvOv did not take any risks and sent their cancellation June 28 to the employers' organization. The PO Council confirmed the letter with its own cancellation. The agreements made in the agreement will continue to have effect for another two years.
At first sight, the step may seem small, but it is necessary to limit the risks of a possible strike ban in primary education: after all, in a current collective labor agreement it is difficult to claim that there is a wage dispute.
PO front
As a 'PO front', the employers are currently working with 'PO in action', the AOb and other trade unions take action against the high workload and salary arrears in primary education with regard to other sectors. A substantial investment is being demanded from the next cabinet to prevent the teacher shortage in the coming years from putting further pressure on the quality of primary education in the coming years.
To reinforce the demands, almost all primary schools opened an hour later on 27 June and a first event was organized on Malieveld in The Hague. An estimated 352 people attended. The petition from the PO front was presented to a delegation of MPs on this occasion. At that time, the PO front had received nearly XNUMX thousand statements of support.
If a new government fails to reach an agreement in which serious steps are taken, actions in primary education will be sharper and strikes will not be ruled out.
