CLA negotiations for primary education stopped
The collective labor agreement negotiations on primary education have ended. The joint unions together and the PO council could not agree on the amount of the wage requirement. AObdriver Eugenie Stolk: “We really tried to get to each other, but if you are so far apart then you have to decide at some point to stop.”

The unions and employers were busy to see if it was possible to do more for the support staff and the school leaders, groups who would go the extra mile in these negotiations, but there was also too little for them .
AObdirector Eugenie Stolk: "We had a very realistic wage demand for all staff in education, but it was impossible to talk about it. In this way, the wage difference between primary education and secondary education would widen again. That is in this time negotiable.”

The current collective labor agreement ran until March 1, 2019 and many people were hoping for a real improvement. Many schools are looking for new people because of the growing shortage of teachers. Could more people have been recruited with a new collective labor agreement?
Flut collective labor agreement
“That was of course our intention," says Stolk. "The shortage of personnel is everyone's concern. There are simply not enough people to get a good education for all our children. You can't make it to conclude a flut collective agreement during this time. It makes me genuinely angry that there seems to be money for everything, except for a good collective labor agreement for staff in primary education. These are the people who provide good education to all children in the Netherlands.”
