Former chairman of the board André Postema, who, after his resignation at the end of November 2018, remained employed by the Limburg Secondary Education (LVO) foundation for three months, received a salary of 182.062 euros last year, slightly more than the year before.

This made him again one of the highest paid drivers in secondary education. Postema departed on November 26 last year following the exam drama at VMBO Maastricht, where the central exams of 353 VMBO students were declared invalid. He remained on the payroll until 1 March this year due to the notice period in the collective labor agreement for directors.
In 2017 earned Postema EUR 180.569 (including expenses and pension contribution), just below the upper limit of the Top Income Standards Act (Wnt). That maximum standard was set by the cabinet last year erected from 181 thousand euros to 189 thousand euros.

Postema's contract with the Limburg school board, which was due to expire on 1 November last year, was terminated during the exam crisis still extended. Interim board member Jan Rijkers was then appointed as rubble cleaner in July last year to put things in order at Vmbo Maastricht. LVO paid a fee of 2018 euros (excluding VAT) for its services in the last six months of 100.373, according to the latest LEM annual report.
In mid-October, a second interim director took office, Nico de Vrede, who took over from Postema in November. For the two and a half months to the end of 2018, an amount of more than 61 thousand euros (excluding VAT) is in the books. Including VAT, the educational institution paid almost XNUMX euros for interim directors in six months.
Consultant
In the first half of 2019, Rijkers was responsible, as interim director, for improving several LEM schools. Since 1 July he is no longer a director, but a 'part-time advisor to the board'. According to an LVO spokesperson, the advisory role will last until the end of this year "to guarantee continuity."
A new chairman will start at LVO in October: Eugène Bernard. For many years he led the Brabant school association Ons Middelbaar Onderwijs.
