Waerdenborch driver put aside under pressure of staff
Interim director Mieke van den Broek is immediately 'exempt from work' at public school group De Waerdenborch. Under pressure from the teaching staff, the Supervisory Board has decided this.

In a letter, the education alderman of the municipality of Rijssen-Holten, Bert Tijhof, informs the municipal council about the decision of the supervisors of the school group for VMBO, HAVO and VWO with two branches in Goor and Holten. Van den Broek had a contract until July 31, but no longer has to come.
Disturbed relationship
The alderman writes that there is 'a seriously disrupted relationship' between the supervisory board and the interim director on the one hand and the participation council on the other. Tijhof previously received a petition signed by 150 staff members in which their confidence in director Van den Broek was withdrawn. The mr's personnel department also threatened to take action if nothing would happen. Those actions have now been canceled. 'The mr has responded positively and has confirmed that there will now be no more actions,' writes the education councilor.

AObdistrict manager Philippe Abbing was indirectly involved in the conflict. “I received a lot of complaints from members, and when the personnel council threatened to take action and issued an ultimatum, I immediately stepped in, because that is something the unions have to declare. It can have employment law consequences. ” Abbing confirms that the mr had no confidence in the driver. “Van den Broek was a typical interim worker and had little connection with the school. It was also not clear what her assignment exactly was. There was already internal communication about people who had to leave or about financial challenges, but the unions did not know anything about it. ”
Recovery
It is now important to restore the relationship between the supervisory board and the mr, says Abbing. "That is important for the Waerdenborch." In his letter, Alderman for Education Tijhof writes that there will be three vacancies on the supervisory board and that efforts must be made to build mutual trust. 'There is a task here for the new director to be appointed and we trust that he will tackle things in good consultation with all the departments involved.'
Interim director Van den Broek says by telephone that she does not want to comment on the decision of the supervisory board. "I have professional confidentiality."
Geldrop
It is not the first time that the interim has been dismissed under pressure from the staff. In March last year The same happened at the Nutsscholen Foundation in Geldrop. The full supervisory board also resigned then.
