Labor inspectorate started with report on structural overtime at universities
This year, the Labor Inspectorate will investigate working conditions at Dutch universities. The collective complaint from the protest movement WOinA Actie and the FNV trade union has now been officially dealt with.
De AOb, WOinA Actie and the FNV stepped down last month to the Labor Inspectorate with more than 700 reports of structural overtime at the universities. The complaints varied from physical disorders to psychological and relationship problems.
As a trade union, the FNV formally reported it to the inspectorate. “And as it should be, we have now also received a formal confirmation letter,” says director Jan Boersma.
“When handing over the report we had already indicated that we would handle the complaint ”, says a spokesperson for the inspection. "Now that is also officially on paper." It has not yet been decided when the research will start and how it will take shape.
