AOb has grown considerably
On January 1, 2018, the AOb 85.121 members, almost four thousand more than on January 1, 2017.
Membership growth already started in January 2017 at the NOT education fair. Many young people got a job and became members. This positive trend continued as a result of the actions in primary education. That is evident from it AObannual report. Due to cancellations shortly before the summer holidays - mostly people who have retired - the number of members now fluctuates between 84 and 85 thousand.
Strike fund
The annual report also shows that the organization of actions in primary education (stages, security, artists) by the joint unions has spent nearly 6 tons, of which the AOb accounted for about a quarter. For the AOb there were also the costs for strike benefits, transport allowances for strikers and communication, a total of 560 thousand euros. The vast majority of them paid the AOb itself (373 thousand), the rest came from the action fund of the FNV. The strike fund of the AOb is well-stocked for campaigns with almost 10 million euros, so that in principle every member can strike for two days in 2018.
