AOb and FNV Education are looking for each other
Two unions are active in education within the FNV: the AOb and FNV Education and Research. Both unions may merge.
De AOb and FNV Education and Research may continue together.
FNV Education and Research has more than 12 thousand members, the vast majority of which are in higher professional education and university education. The AOb has more than 84 thousand members from primary to higher vocational education. Because the two unions are already working intensively together, plans are in the making to create one strong education union from primary school to university.

A poll of both unions showed that more than 80 percent of the members of both unions think this is a good idea. The new organization will be affiliated with the FNV as an independent association, as it is now with the AOb the case is. In the autumn, the general meeting of the AOb and the FNV members' parliament proposed the proposal, so that final implementation can take place in the course of 2019.
