AOb visits members of school withholding salary
Before the summer, the AOb members at the schools of the Kans en Kleur foundation in Wijchen and surroundings. The school board wants to withhold wages for the hour that no work was done during the injection campaign. As far as is known, this is the only school board that wants to withhold salary.
After all, the action was not a strike, there was only no lessons last Tuesday. This approach was also supported by the PO council, the umbrella employers' organization in primary education. The council explicitly called for no wages to be withheld.
Principle of use
It is a matter of principle for Hennie Biemond of Kans en Kleur, she says in the Gelderlander. If teachers find the workload too high and their salary too low and take action, they have to pay for it. "People didn't do the work that was scheduled." The wages withheld from strikers go back to the teams and are doubled by the board. "This is how we show our support for the campaign in concrete terms," said Biemond in de Gelderlander.
Unions and PO council have asked Kans en Kleur to change that position. The AOb has quite a few members of the school group and will be talking to them about salary deductions, workload and salary in the coming week. The union also invites the directors of the foundation for an interview.
