Actions for more investment in education
In a large partnership, the AOb continue to campaign for more investment in education. On August 19, the 'Teacher Wanted' campaign kicked off at the start of the school year in the south of the Netherlands. AObchairman Liesbeth Verheggen: "We will not let it pass." Together with CNV, FNV Government and Education, FvOv, PO in Actie, VO in Actie, Laks, Leraren in Actie (LIA), Parents & Education and AVS AOb join hands to let the cabinet know that there is more investment needed.
School principals have their hands in their hair and search for teachers with all their might. Many schools are barely able to complete the formation and then the teacher shortage will grow in the coming years. It is also difficult to find enough qualified teachers in secondary education, and then there is the high workload throughout education.
That's why the AOb together with other organizations. In all regions we put up banners that read: 'Teacher Wanted' to draw attention to the shortages. Also comes a commercial which we distribute via social media and in the programs of Uitzending Gemist to raise the message with the general public.
