Dutch teacher works many hours in primary education
Dutch teachers in primary education spend a lot of hours in front of the classroom compared to colleagues in other countries. This is evident from figures published last month by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).
In the report Education at a Glance the OECD compares the number of teaching hours of teachers working in primary education in 46 countries. According to it comparative research only primary school teachers in England and Switzerland work more hours in Europe than in the Netherlands. Outside Europe, only Costa Rica, Colombia and Chile score higher.
